The Wanderers, a brand name floated by Wanderers Leisure Travels Private Limited, specialises in travels to lesser-known exotic destinations. We have been in this 'vocation' since 1997 and have carved out a niche for ourselves in a segment that focuses on travel to offbeat and spectacular locations in India and worldwide in comfort and style. We have an impressive client list of individuals and our corporate clients include Marico, CEAT, Tata Motors, Hindustan Unilever, Pepsico, ABN Amro, IDFC Mutual Fund, Principal Mutual Fund, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, Reuters India, Samsonite etc. We are set for expanding our domestic and outbound operations and require dynamic and driven candidates who will partner our growth. (Basically we are looking for people who are 'nuts' about travel and tourism and will go the whole hog to ensure that clients get the best possible experience which should be better than what we promise them and 'more' than what they pay for! a) Manager-Outbound Leisure. Position: 1 (Mumbai)
Job description: As senior vacation planner, you will field phone calls/mails from individuals based in India or abroad. You will handle a broad range of situations including preparation of quotes for existing & customized vacations, confirming bookings, processing payments, general client enquires and customer service situations. Focus areas: Europe, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand
Qualifications: Tour & Travel background and/or education essential. 3-4 years experience working in a reservation/sales department for a tour operator or travel agency is a definite asset. At least 2 years should have been spent selling Focus area destinations mentioned above. Well developed ability to work independently within a team. Start Date: Immediate. b) Manager-MICE. Position: 1 (Mumbai)
Job description: As a senior MICE planner, you will be responsible for promotong our MICE offers, the most popular being our signature offer of "Conferences and offsites with team building programmes" in exotic locations. You will be resposible for implementation of a successful MICE strategy to targeted clients in order to meet and/or exceed revenue goals. You will attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings. Maintain knowledge of market, competition and customers. Focus areas: India & select destinations across the world.
Qualifications: Tour & Travel background and/or education essential. 3-4 years experience working in a MICE department for a tour operator or travel agency or a hotel group is a definite asset. Well developed ability to work independently within a team and to independently prepare presentations, quotations and pitch for business. Start Date: Immediate.
c) Vacation Planner-Outbound. Position: 1 (Mumbai)
Job description: As vacation planner, you will field phone calls/mails from individuals based in India or abroad. You will handle a broad range of situations including preparation of quotes for existing & customized vacations, confirming bookings, processing payments, general client enquires and customer service situations. Focus areas: South East, Indo-China, Mauritius, Maldives, Sri Lanka.

e) India Operations Executive/Asst.Manager - Positions: 1 (Mumbai)
Job description: To coordinate with existing operators/hoteliers/suppliers in India/Nepal/Tibet/Bhutan for rate contracting and bookings. To continuously search for new hotels and suppliers in India that match the quality and standards of products that we offer. And to contract rates with them. To assist sales staff in The Wanderers in timely gathering of information of products and rates that will help them in closing orders.
Qualifications: 2 years India operations experience in a reputed travel agency of coordinating with operators/hoteliers/suppliers in India for rate contracting and bookings.
f) Sr. Executive- Airline Ticketing & Visa- Positions: 1 (Mumbai)
Qualifications: Graduate, IATA qualified, fluent in English with 3 years experience in a reputed travel agency and experienced in both domestic and International ticketing. Further, the candidate should be well-versed in visa procedures to be able to assist our clients in applying for Visas.
Job description: Will coordinate with our Sales staff as well as with airlines and IATA agencies in getting best flight fares, routing, pricing, booking flight tickets, visa application and coordinating with Consulates and clients.
g) Trainee Vacation Planner-India/Nepal/Bhutan. Position: 1 (Mumbai)
Job description: As a Trainee vacation planner, you will be trained to field phone calls/mails from individuals based in India or abroad. You will be trained to handle a broad range of situations including preparation of quotes for existing & customized vacations, confirming bookings, processing payments, general client enquires and customer service situations. Focus areas: India/Nepal/Bhutan.
Qualifications: Graduates with 1-2 years experience working in a reservation/sales department for any non-travel agency. Good computer skills and fluency in English and any one regional language. Remuneration: We can't pay you more than our illustrious competitors NOR will you work for free (but we wont stop you if you want to). You will get what you deserve and a bit more (if the year is good and better sense prevails amongst Naxals & Taliban who decide to say farewell to arms and wear sarongs and flower bands and open travel agencies showcasing Swat flower power and Gadchiroli tribal tours). You will get ample scope to go beyond your brief as long as you keep the clients happy (as well as our accountant Partha). During the day we drive each other crazy and workload buries us. But we also have small parties when we can and go on picnics and overnighters. So, join us if all this has excited you..

Small lodge project: As part of our vision to expand into niche businesses, The Wanderers plan to open boutique lodges/guest houses in places in India.
